The Management of Warri Wolves FC led by Davidson Owumi has slammed a N100,000 fine on star striker, Musa Najare for breaching camp rules.
Najare was said to have deliberately elbowed an opponent in the match between Warri Wolves and Enyimba, which subsequently earned him a red.
According to a statement made available to Blank NEWS Online by Etu Moses, Media Officer of Warri Wolves, “The red card awarded Najare in the match between Warri Wolves and Enyimba which they lost by two goals affected the fortunes of the team and was said to have further breached camp rules in their abode in Abuja where they are currently participating in the LMC Pre –Season Super Four.
“The decision to slam the fine on Najare is to serve as a stern warning to all the players to learn how to behave in and out of the field of play and to further tell them that Management will not condone indiscipline in the club.
“I can confirm to you that one of our strikers, Musa Najare has been fined for deliberately elbowing an opponent in the match against Enyimba and went further to contravene the camp rules and in line with the policy of the club not to entertain indiscipline, the management led by Davidson Owumi after a crucial examination of the offences, decided to fine him and he is going to cough out One Hundred Thousand Naira. This is to serve as a deterrent to all the players to simply know how to behave in and out of the field of play, obey camp rules and concentrate on the task ahead.”
Meanwhile, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Club, Davidson Owumi has enjoined the players to work hard and remain focused as they try to build a solid team that can stand the test of time.
Owumi who visited the players in their hotel on Monday evening urged them to be alive to their responsibilities, assuring them that their welfare will be a priority and that they should strive to reciprocate the good gesture of the Government.
He however said he has absolute confidence that they will deliver, provided they are disciplined and dedicated.
‘I want to advise all of you to be disciplined and remain focused as that is the only way you can raise your game. We on our part will do our best to make you comfortable and it is my duty to do so. However, you just have to reciprocate the good gesture by winning trophies and I have absolute confidence that you can do it” Owumi said.
