The Traditional Rulers of the Oil Minerals Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON), Delta State Chapter, have expressed confidence in the choice of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, on the appointment of Bashorun Askia Ogieh led Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
The Traditional Rulers led by the Chairman of TROMPCON, HRM (Dr.) Emmanuel Sideso, Abe1, the Ovie of Uwie kingdom, said this during a courtesy visit to the management of DESOPADEC, in their corporate head office, in Warri on Friday November 22nd 2019.
While reading his address, he congratulated the Bashorun Askia led board, stating that their appointment was well deserved and that TROMPCON was confident in the choice of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, of them.
He further stated that the visit was mainly to formally introduce the newly inaugurated executives of TROMPCON, Delta State Chapter, whose inauguration took place on the 8th of October 2019, to the board and to intimate them about their activities, which include Seminars, Conferences and Welfare of Traditional Rulers.
HRM (Dr) Emmanuel Sideso thanked the board, for the privilege of receiving the royal fathers and assured them of their continued support, as they move Delta State forward, emphasizing that the assistance of DESOPADEC will place them in the right position, in the comity of TROMPCON.
Responding to the address of the Royal Fathers, the MD/CEO DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh FCNA, CrFA, warmly welcomed the kings and thanked them, for taking time off, to visit them in their office.
The MD acknowledged that DESOPADEC was the baby of TROMPCON and stated clearly that there was need for the Commission to work in collaboration with TROMPCON, because the royal fathers, as members of the grassroots, relate more closely with the people of the Oil bearing Communities and know them better.
He promised them that the issue of the National Conference would be tackled by the board, stating that the board was looking forward to visiting them in their palaces, when invited.
The Executive Director, Projects, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, while giving a vote of thanks, on behalf of the board, said, in his words, “Today is a great day in the lives of DESOPADEC members, because the presence of kings brings peace.” He reassured the kings that the board was ready to visit them, even at short notice.
Also present at the meeting were other royal fathers, HRM. Bosu Dio, the Ebenanawei of Iduwini, HRM; Eze Jonathan Ede Oshimili Kanegede (JP), the Ogene of Ibedeni; HRM Jackson Angalabiri, the Ebenanawei of Kumbowei; HRM Ifeanyichukwu Ogeh 1 (JP), Igwe of Ase.
Other board members present include the Executive Director Administration and Finance, Chief Barr. John Nani, Executive Director Planning Research and Statistics, Comr. Shedrack Agediga and Executive Director, Social Services, Barr. Leonard Anoka.
