Offering sincere gratitude to God and carrying out duties with the fear of God comes with great reward.
The Senior Pastor of the Four Square Gospel Church, Sanctuary of God’s Mercy, Zonal Headquarters Asaba, Pastor Innocent Afobunor stated this at a Thanksgiving organized by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Urban Renewal Mrs Charity Ehimen.
Pastor Afobunor whose message was tagged the power of an intimate relationship with God, said everyone has countless reasons to thank God especially for the gift of life.
He warned Christians not to arrogate powers to themselves but should fear God and be exemplary in any position they occupy in life.
He commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for maintaining the Government House Chapel as a vibrant place of worship of God and urged others in key positions to put Christ at the centre of their lives.
The cleric congratulated the PS on her elevation and urged her to use her office to affect lives positively and preach the gospel of Jesus.
The chief celebrant Mrs Charity Ehimen said her promotion to the apex of her career was by divine providence and thanked Senator Okowa for reposing confidence in her, promising to give her best.
At the event, the Delta State Head of Service Mr Reginald Bayoko, the Permanent Secretary Government House and Protocol Mr Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje described Mrs Ehimen as a dedicated public servant and urged her to continue to be a role model to the younger generation.
