The Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya, has hailed the emergence of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Delta State as a good political omen that will produce desired peace and development in the state.
Hon Onwusanya who made the observation in his congratulatory message to Senator Okowa who was declared the winner of PDP gubernatorial primaries held in Asaba on Monday, said the outcome underscores equity and fairness that are the desire of Deltans.
While describing the result of the election as fantastic, the speaker said Dr Okowa is a political father to many politicians in Delta State and implored him to be accommodative in victory.
While imploring him to extend a hand of brotherliness to aspirants who contested with him, Hon Onwusanya urged those who lost the primaries and their supporters to prepare to work with the PDP candidate to guarantee victory for the party in the main election.
Meanwhile, a former Commissioner for Lands in Delta State, Barrister Raymos Guanah, while congratulating Dr. Okowa for the victory, enjoined him to be magnanimous in victory.
Barrister Guanah, the Deputy Director-General of Olejeme Campaign Organisation, further urged all those who participated in the election to now sheath their sword and work with Dr. Okowa in the interest of PDP.
