OLEH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT UNION ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT GENERAL, OTHER EXECUTIVE MEMBERS

Oleh Community Development Union (OCDU) at the weekend, elected new president general, Chief Believe Unuafe and other executive members to pilot affairs of the community for one tenure of three years at Oleh Civic center, Isoko South local government area of Delta State.

The election was orderly, peaceful, free and fair, and was conducted and supervised by the commissioner for women affair’s, community and social development, Barr. Mrs. Pat Ajudua, Chief Edwin Uzor, special advicer to governor Sheriff Oborevwori, on peace building and conflict resolution Delta State and Chief Mrs. Ofogbor M. I, the HPM of Isoko South local government area of Delta State, represented by Chief Onowotu Ralf.

The election started with the accreditation of delegates from various quarters and streets of Oleh community as well as Joint Abroad Delegates across Delta State and other states in Nigeria, just as Unuafe got 135 votes to defeat his closest rival, Barr. Ogagaoghene Okpro who got 69 votes. Option A4 was chosen by the delegates for the conduct of the election.

Other members of the elected executives are Mr. Henry Osibi as vice president, Benjamin Odezi, general secretary, Jeremaih Ikpawhomuno, assistant general secretary, William Orobosa, financial secretary, Victor Ogbe, treasurer, Odiete Edafe, publicity secretary, Mrs. Agbahomovo Blessing, women leader, Mrs. Esther Jombo, as vice women leader.

Mrs. Oyeke Victoria, women secretary and for the quarter representatives, Mr. Emonena Philip was elected for Itesa quarters, Mr. Umukoro Evi, Uzokpa quarters and Mr. Roland Odeghe as Eviewho quarters representative.

Speaking after the swearing in of the president general and other executive members of Oleh Community Development Union, the commissioner for women affair’s, community and social development, Barr. Mrs. Pat Ajudua urged Unuafe to be resourceful in his administration and to carry everyone along as the development of the community depends on people oriented projects.

The high point of the event was the declaration of Chief Believe Unuafe as the president general of Oleh Community Development Union by Chief Edwin Uzor, just as Unuafe and other executive members of the union signed the register of positions contested.

Responding, the president general, Chief Believe Unuafe commended government officials for the transparent conduct of the election and promised to run all inclusive government towards the development of Oleh community, adding that he will be president for one tenure of three years according to the constitution.
