The Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has promptly released fund to execute the match between Warri Wolves and AC Leopards coming up at the Warri City Stadium on Saturday.
Dr Okowa who was only briefed on Tuesday night about the match approved the release of fund without delay and urged the team to win the match for him.
“We are lucky to have Dr Okowa at the helm of affairs in Delta State. Despite the state of affairs which we all know, he has approved fund for the match. Everybody knows that there is no money in the country but he has done that to show that he is equal to the task. We can only win this match for him and I know that Sports will not suffer under him.” said Etu who is the Media Manager of the Warri based team..
Meanwhile, the players of the Warri based team have intensified their efforts in training as they await the arrival of AC Leopards who arrived Port Harcourt in a Chartered flight.
The players have who have been joined by those in the Super Eagles camp have said they will do everything to overturn the first leg result which ended 3-0 against them.
Recall that AC Leopards FC of Congo Brazzaville, Warri Wolves opponent in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup cracker on Saturday at the Warri City Stadium will arrive Nigeria on Thursday in a chartered flight which will land in PortHacourt.
According to a brief statement made available to the Media on Wedenesday by the Media Manager of the Warri based Club, Etu Moses, the Congo team which defeated Wolves by three goals in the first leg did not reveal much about their travelling arrangement thus the number of people coming could not be ascertained.
However, Wolves, the host team has made an arrangement to convey them from PortHarcourt to Warri by road as soon as they land in the Garden City.
“They have informed us that they will be coming in on Thursday via PortHarcourt but we dont know the number of people coming. We have made available vehicles to convey them to Warri as soon as they land in the Garden City.”
Meanwhile, the Management of the Warri based team has advised those intending to come and watch the match should try and get a blue T-Shirt and with that will automatically watch the game free.
According to Etu, the Club want to make the atmosphere quite different from what they have been used to and have decided that the blue shirt will serve as match ticket.
“We are trying to change the orientation of the fans and for this match, if you come with your blue shirt, you will be allowed to watch the match free and so we are appealing to our fans to get a blue T-Shirt and cheer the boys as they are ready to do their country proud.”
