The Amalgamated Commercial Tricycles and Motorcycles owners, repairers and Riders Association of Nigeria, ACOMORAN, Edo Chapter, have pledged their support for the candidacy of Dr Azemhe Azena of the NNPP, in the upcoming September election in Edo state.
The Umbrella body, popularly known as “Okada Riders” hosted the NNPP Governorship candidate, who was on a retaliatory visit to their office in Benin City, on Monday.
Speaking at the occasion, the Edo State Chairman of the Association, Mr Sylvester Obaweki, who also doubles as the National Vice Chairman, spoke glowingly of Dr Azemhe Azena and his mandate.
” I am happy to receive you here in our midst today with my members, with the full knowledge and permission of my National Chairman, to give support to someone who has impacted the common man on the streets of Edo state, including registered and unregistered members of this association,” he said.
Mr Obaweki added that “it is time for Edo State to have a Governor who is humble, sincere and dedicated to the collective well-being of all”.
The Gubernatorial candidate, who was himself an Okada rider as a young adult, in his response, thanked Mr Sylvester Obaweki and his team for extending such a kind hand of fellowship to him while assuring them that he would live up to their expectation, when elected into office come September.
He, however, assured them that he would ensure an all-inclusive governance, that would lead to the economic and social emancipation of the Edo people.
