*Pledges Free Education, Free Health Care Services, Improved Electricity
A foremost governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and sponsor of “One Man One Vote” campaign, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has embarked on a consultation tour of Delta state senatorial districts ahead of the 2019 elections.
Ojuogboh, a one time member representing Ika Federal Constituency in the National Assembly and PDP governorship aspirant in the run-up to the PDP governorship primaries in 2007. He was also the Deputy National Chairman of the Senator Ali Modu-Sherif faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former South-South chairman of the party.
The visit, according to sources, was to solicit the support and blessings of leaders and delegates ahead of the party’s primaries.
During a recent consultative visit to the leaders and caucus of Delta South APC and Delta Central APC Chairmen and Secretaries respectively, Ojougboh while addressing the leaders in Warri, pledged one term if elected as Delta State Governor in 2019, in line with the arrangement of Urhobo Governor in 2023, just as he seized the opportunity of the consultative visit, to unveil the “One Man One Vote ” campaign in Delta South.
At Agbara-Otor in Ughelli North, the governorship aspirant who was received at Chief Felix Ekure’s residence by Delta Central APC Chairmen and Secretaries, restated that four years is enough for any serious minded person to turn Delta State around for good.
Dr Cairo Ojougboh has also paid a consultative visit to the Palace of HRM Oboro Gbaruan II, at Gbaramatu, where he met with foremost Ijaw politiIjaw, Theodore Izonfade, and Hon Isaac Ulebor among other chieftains.
He promised to improve the epileptic electricity been suffered in Delta State, to five hundred mega watts, if elected as Governor in 2019.
He further expressed dissatisfaction over the deteriorating state of infrastructures in the state, especially the poor condition of facilities in various hospitals.
“Becoming Delta State Governor is not do or die for me, what is a must for me is APC taking over Delta State. However, if I am voted as Delta State Governor in 2019, I will do one term. Delta State budget is one of the smallest, the reason for the low budget is because the Governor is running a corrupt government, and the money is been looted, hence the under declaration of revenues. I will provide free education and free health care services for our people.”
He expressed optimism that an APC government would be enthroned in Delta come 2019, because of its popularity and the commitment of its members in the state.
Ojougboh, while saying that the APC was a united party, advised that its members must be respectful and loyal to its structures and hierarchy to ensure its electoral victory come in the 2019 general elections.
