The Edo state Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Dr Azemhe Azena, has expressed gratitude to the management of the state-owned Ambrose Alli University, following the outcome of the emergency meeting of the Senate held yesterday amidst the course registration crisis and the decision taken to extend the time of registration for additional two weeks for the protesting students.
It should be recalled that the students on Thursday morning, embarked on a peaceful protest at the entrance of the school premises while keeping the entrance gate under lock and key, preventing both staff and students from gaining entrance to the school.
In an internal memo released by the Senate of the school and signed by the school’s Acting Registrar, Mr Ambrose E. Odiase, “the Senate also considered the issue of non-registration of courses by some students who paid school fees and participated in examination in the 2022/2023 session and approved that one week be given to them to carry out the course registration formalities through the ICT backend”
The Governorship Candidate, Dr Azemhe Azena who is, however, grateful for the quick resolution of the crisis, had earlier cried out for a peaceful resolution of the brewing crisis yesterday, while calling on the students not to take laws into their own hands as they embarked on a protest against the school management.
