The Chairman of the Delta State Investments Development Agency (DIDA), Mr. Paul Nmah, has congratulated Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State and Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the conferment of the prestigious national honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) on him by President Mohammadu Buhari.
NMAH in a statement said that the national honour bestowed on the state governor was a clear indication of his numerous contributions to the development of the nation and humanity.
“As an administrator he had shown dexterity in bringing out people oriented policies and programmes.
“As a onetime law maker in the Senate, he was instrumental in the passing into law of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
“Our dear Delta State is currently enjoying the Delta State Contributory Health Scheme under his administration as the Governor,” Mr. Nmah stated.
He described Governor Okowa as a politician who had remained an enigma and a force to reckon with, haven traversed the various levels of the political ladder from the grassroots to the national level.
Mr. Nmah said that he was convinced that the honour would further propel him to do more, when the PDP wins the Presidential Election in 2023 with OKowa as the Vice President of Nigeria.
On his part the Director General of the Agency, Olorogun Lucky Oghene-Omoru described Governor Okowa as a detribalised person who had ensured that he touched everyone positively, irrespective of tribe, religion and political inclinations.
He emphasised that the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate would be fair to all peoples in the country, irrespective of their tribes and religions, going by his well-known antecedents.
He said that he was not surprised that the governor was honoured with the award because hea had been at the forefront of promoting the health sector, both at the national and state levels.
The DIDA Director General commended the governor for ensuring that the investment climate in Delta State remained very conducive, thereby, making Delta State the preferred investment destination.
He prayed for more grace on the governor and wished him success in his future endeavours.
