–Blank NEWS Online (NIGERIA) – From Mike Sagbola (North-East Correspondent):
The military has again sealed off another office of an international non governmental organisation in the Northeast.
It was learnt that soldiers invaded the Borno office of Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA} in Maiduguri on Saturday, ordering everyone out, sealing off the office.
Some soldiers were detailed around the office to ensure no one have access to the office.
The military had sometimes last year sealed off the offices of Action Against Hunger and Mercy Corps in the Northeast for alleged activities against Nigerian security.
The two organisations were subsequently opened after interventions from all humanitarian communities led by the United Nations who had to meet with the military and the federal government.
A source said Saturday’s sealing off of ADRA was ordered by the head of the military counter-insurgency operation in the Northeast (Theatre Commander if Operation Lafiya Dole).
An impeccable source revealed to our correspondent that four staff of ADRA were arrested by the military following an intelligence alert that they were planning an unauthorized trip to Magumeri.
The source said the four persons were subsequently handed over to the police and as at Sunday evening detained at the Borno State Police Command in Maiduguri
When contacted for comment, the spokesman of Forum of international non governmental organisations (INGOs), Moshood Raimi said he cannot speak for ADRA since it does not associate with the rest of the Forum of INGOs.
Confirming the report on Sunday, the Country Representative of ADRA, Frederick Omosebi said the organisation is still conducting investigation to determine what was responsible for the action.
Both the spokesman of the military and police, Col. Ado Isa and ASP Okon Edet did not respond to messages sent to their mobile lines.
