Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has advised newly married couples to consecrate their marriage in God so as to lay a solid foundation for their union.
The Governor who spoke in Lagos at the weekend after attending the solemnization of holy matrimony between Mr. Eyituoyo Amuka-Pemu, son of Mr. Sam. Amuka-Pemu, Publisher of the Vanguard newspaper and Miss. Oladepe Funmi Adeshina at Yaba Baptist Church said “any marriage built on the love of God will bring manifold blessing to the couples including children who will grow up to become responsible citizens”.
While congratulating the couple, Governor Uduaghan charged them to put God first in every thing they do so as to have a lasting union.
On her part, the wife of the Governor, Deaconess Nere Roli Uduaghan advised the couple, Mr. And Mrs. Eyituoyo Amuka-Pemu to listen to each other and pray together to attract God’s blessings.`
Associates of the groom’s father including the Delta State Information Commisioner, Barr. Chike Ogeah and Chief Ominimini Obiuwevwi charged the couple to seek advice from each othert and aviod taking their complaints to a third party.
Mr. Eyituoyo Pemu and his wife Oladepe were joined as husband and wife bhy Rev. Gabriel Adebayo after they had exchanged marital vows.
The ceremony was also attended by the Governors of Edo, Rivers, and Ogun States. Adam Oshiomole; Rotimi Amaechi and Ibikunle Amosun respectively as well as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark.
