The Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, was been honoured with a long service award by the Lions International Club.
The award which was conferred on him weekend in Warri, according to the club, was in recognition of Solomon’s “selfless and outstanding service to your community and humanity”.
The award was the highlight of the Lions International maiden Elders Day in Warri. Presenting the award to Solomon, Dr. Kofoworola Jagede, pioneer District Governor of District 404 A4, noted that the Senior Policy Adviser had been involved in facilitating access to
education for the less privileged through granting of scholarships.
Solomon recently granted scholarship up to university level to pupils of Gbesa Primary School Bolou-Ojobo who excel in the quizz contest among schools in the area when he was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Bolor-owei of Operemo Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area
Promising to extend the scholarship, he had admonished the pupils who were on hand to witness the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Bolor-owei of Operemo Kingdom on him to be serious with their studies as it is the key to their becoming responsible and successful citizens.
