L.G ELECION: WARRI OVOKE WINS ISOKO SOUTH L.G.A, COMMENDS DSIEC FOR PEACEFUL ELECTION

Hon. Warri Ovoke Friday, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Isoko South local government area, has been declared winner of the local government election held on 13th of July 2024 in the 20 wards of Isoko South local government area of Delta State.

Declaring the results at Ekpre Otobo Hall Oleh, Isoko South council secretariat, the returning officer Professor James Okoro of Delta State University Abraka said, Hon
Warri Ovoke Friday of PDP pulled total votes of 99,000 to defeat his rival Hon. Andrew Ofejiro of the APC who pulled total votes of 2,673 votes.

He stated that election results were received from the 20 wards of Isoko South local government area, adding that the election was peaceful without crisis.

Speaking while monitoring the conduct of the election at Okpolo Enwhe ward 11 unit 8 Hon. Warri Ovoke Friday promised to change the narrative of the area and commended Delta State Independent Electoral Commission for the peaceful conduct of election.

He commended the people of Okpolo Enwhe community for turning out massively to vote, inspite of the heavy down pour of rain, and reiterated that the election was peaceful free and fair.

At Olomoro ward 6 unit 3, the lawmaker Delta State House of Assembly representing Isoko South constituency 2, Hon. Ferguson Onwo also commended the electorates for coming out enmass to vote, inspite of the early morning down pour, noting that PDP campaigned vigorously from ward to ward and unit to unit to win the election.

The lawmaker urged the people to remain peaceful, pray for the government and support the MORE AGENDER of governor Sheriff Oborevwori and assured that Hon. Warri Ovoke Friday will build on the foundation laid by the state government.

On his part, the director general of the campaign organization, Barr. Duncan Afahokor expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election. He noted that the local government financial autonomy will bring rapid development to area, just as he assured that PDP will deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the area.

Other communities visited during the conduct of the election were, Oleh, Irri and Uzere in Isoko South local government area and Emevor, Owhe, Otor -Igho and Ozoro communities.

Speaking to newsmen at Otibio ward 20 unit 3, the commissioner for health Delta State, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme and hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba, candidate of the PDP Isoko North local government area, commended Delta State Independent Electoral Commission for the early arrival of election materials, just as they attributed the people determination to vote inspite of the rain to the love of the party and present government vigorous campaign from ward to ward and unit to unit.
