ISOKO-NORTH Council Chairman, Deacon Christian Othuke Iteire, has expressed the desire of his administration to collaborate with security agencies in order to ensure peace and security in the Local Government Area.
Iteire made the hint at the Council Secretariat Ozoro, Isoko North local government area of Delta State, when he received the new Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Army in charge of Oleh and Ozoro, Captain Gift Prince Oko, on familiarisation visit.
He stated that, the need for increased and effective collaborations between the Isoko North Local Government Council and Security Agencies became necessary in order to rid the Local Government Area of crimes and criminal elements.
Hon Iteire expressed serious concerns over the increasingly disturbing activities of internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘yahoo boys’ and cultists particularly in Ozoro metropolis and called for a serious clampdown and eradication by the security agencies.
While calling on security agencies operating in the Local Government Area to complement one another and not to see themselves as competitors, the Chief Security Officer of Isoko North, Hon Iteire maintained that, his administration had prioritized security and has taken measures including stakeholders’ engagements in a bid to ensure relative peace and security in the Local Government Area.
Saluting the resilience, gallantry, and courage of the men of the Nigerian Army, the Isoko North Local Government Council Boss assured the new Commanding Officer of the necessary assistance, support and cooperation of his administration in the fight against criminalities in the Local Government Area.
Responding, Captain Oko appreciated the Council Chairman for the warm reception accorded him, and assured he would support the Isoko North Local Government Council security-wise in containing insecurity in the Local Government Area.
Present during the visit was the Divisional Police Officer, Ozoro, CSP Ogedengbe Areguamen and the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr Ajiri-Oghene Oreh.
