The Interim President of Isoko Development Union (IDU), Edo State Branch, Comrade Ejoor Umukoro, has urged youths to uphold the Isoko Culture and tradition which is supreme and sacrilege among other tribes.
Umukoro, who is also the Director General of Defenders of Democracy Group (DDG), stated this while addressing students in his official assignment as the Chairman of the occasion to mark Isoko Cultural day at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in Benin City, Edo state.
He also urged them to always visit their their homes and learn more of the norms and way of living as well as mastery of the Isoko language.
Moreover, while reacting to different questions raised by the students about the political development in Isoko land, most especially Isoko South Constituency (1), he said OREZI ESIEVO may be a costly exercise for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) being that she is so disconnected from her people.
He broke into emotion, the manner at which leaders use the youth for thuggery, carrying of arms and fomenting various degree of trouble during elections and at the end they are dumped.
Over one thousand students and lecturers registered as volunteer members with Defenders of Democracy Group (DDG) to participate as election observers in the forth coming general elections.
Dignitaries present at the occasion were Comrade Ogaga Ifowodo, Isoko/North Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lecturers and the executive members of National Union of Isoko Student among who are Mr. Omenuwoma Godstime Josiah (President) Omojewho Hope (V.P) Asaba Emmanuel (Secretary General) Oju Oreva (Dir. Of Social) Itesa Favour (Treasurer) Obiebi Daniel (P.R.O).
