Nigerian workers have been called upon to rededicate themselves to duty to enable them remain relevant in the scheme of things.
The commissioner for information, Mr Patrick Ukah made the call in Asaba while speaking with journalists at the Cenotaph,venue of the May Day celebration.
Mr Ukah said Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was committed to paying Delta state workers regularly in addition to creating enabling environment for them to operate.
He congratulated Nigerian workers on the day and charged them to see it as an avenue to rededicate themselves to service in their activities.
The commissioner said the welfare of workers was dear to the present administration in Delta and urged workers to give their best to meet the high demand placed on them by government at all levels.
Mr Ukah said the all round development being championed by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the midst of scarce resources was a deliberate effort to bring prosperity to all Deltans.
He lauded the state workforce for the support so far and expressed the hope that the SMART agenda would bring a new dawn to the state.
The information commissioner enjoined workers to see themselves as change agent hence the need to be good ambassadors of the service and the state at large.
