Ahead of the 2016 undergraduate Scholarship for Anioma students in accredited Nigerian tertiary institutions, The Friday Osanebi Foundation (FOF) has pledged to sustain the goal of producing best students from the area.
At a meeting with stakeholders and National Presidents of Anioma students Mr. Agbanashi Obinne, on behalf of the foundation, urged the student leaders to ensure that the forms were evenly distributed to the indigent students, adding that the foundation was established to enhance students’ capacity at the tertiary institutions.
The meeting which held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the House of Assembly in Asaba was attended by national students’ presidents of the Federated Union of Ndokwa Sudents (FUNS), National Association of Aniocha/Oshimili Students (NAAOS) and National Association of Ika Students (NAIS).
The stakeholders commended the founder of The Friday Osanebi Foundation (FOF) and Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, for approving the commencement of the 2016 undergraduate Scholarship for indigent Anioma students in accredited Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Meanwhile, forms have been given out to the national leaders of students’ groups from Delta North to be distributed to eligible students in various institutions across the country with an aim to ensure a smooth process and check fraudulent actions.
The education scholarship scheme is open to all students of 100 level from the Nine local government areas in Delta North, namely: Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North and Oshimili South with a transparent selection process through the screening test.
The scholarship is sessional from year of entry till graduation, depending on the successive performances of the benefitting undergraduates in the nation’s universities, polytechnics and monotechnics by sustaining a CGPA of 3.5 or 2nd Class Upper and above.
The best graduating student from each of the nine local government area with the highest CGPA, will at the end of the scheme be given instant employment in various multi national oil companies.
Deadline for submission of completed forms and FOF Scholarship screening examination is 23rd and 30th January, 2016 respectively.
Completed forms are to be submitted at the collection point with the following documents: Photocopy of school ID Card, Local Government Identification, Admission Letter, SSCE and other relevant documents.
