The speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Onyekachi Ochei, has commended the State Executive Council for the harmonious relationship that has been existing between the executive and the legislature, adding that the State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan had made it possible through his love for Deltans irrespective of their ethnic or political background.
Hon Ochei gave this commendation at Issele- Uku at a civic reception organized in his honour by the people of Aniocha.
The spearker thanked his people and friends who came from far and wide to honour him, ‘’saying that God will as well honour them’’.
Ochei said that he was overwhelmed by the unprecedented responds by the people just to celebrate him, and commended the people for their peaceful disposition. He urged them to maintain the tempo saying that it was one of the critical elements that would usher in development for the people.
Earlier in an opening speech, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Dr. Nweton C. Jibunor described Hon. Ochei as a builder who had distinguished himself in various capacities and therefore called on the people to support him in his guest to become the governor of Delta State come 2015.
Chief Jibunor added that the people of Delta North, has all it takes to occupy the seat of the Governor in 2015, saying that the people had continued to show commitment and enthusiasm in all sectors of the Nigerian Economy.
Dr. Jibunor finally urged the people to be united and reason together so that the seat would not elude them.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Organizing Committee/Chief Nkem Okwuofu who is also the Chairman Local Government Service Commission expressed confidence in Ochei, who she said had the interest of his people at heart.
Chief Okuofo thanked the Governor for his love for the people of Aniocha North and pledged their inflicting support for his administration. High point of the occasion was the presentation of gifts and decoration of the Speaker Rt. Hon. Ochei
