The Commissioner for Power and Energy in Delta State, Hon, Charles Emetulu has described the death of the President-General of Urhobo Ptogressive Union (UPU), Major-General Patrick Aziza (rtd) as a great loss to Delta State and the nation.
Hon. Emetulu who was reacting to the death, said, “this is one death that is very painful not only to the Urhobos, Delta State, but the nation at large.
“He contributed a lot to the development of the state and country. We are proud of his contributions to the development of our state and country”, Hon. Emetulu said.
He added, “on assumption of office as the President General of UPU, he brought in his wealth of experience both as a distinguished military officer and as an astute administrator to change positively, the fortunes of the Urhobo nation, he gave the Urhobos a new voice, strengthened UPU and provided selfless leadership.”
Hon. Emetulu observed, “the departure of General Aziza was one sad incidence that many of us find difficult to come to terms with, he left at a time his services were still needed by Delta State and Nigeria. We pray that God will give his immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
“No doubt, his passage is a big blow to the Urhobos, the government and people of Delta State, as such, we commiserate with the Urhobo nation, our Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and all Deltans on this star that has been dimmed’.
The Commissioner also prayed for God to accept the soul of the deceased.
