-Blank NEWS Online (NIGERIA) – By Albert OGRAKA:
Chairman of Oshimili North local government area, Chief Louis Ndukwe has emphasized on the need to promote advocacy towards ensuring a healthy and cleaner environment.
He appealed to stakeholders in the private sector, including residents to synergize for better performances, urging them to join hands with government to improve on the cleanliness of the environment and tackle all challenges that could hinder the achievement of government’s laudable programmes.
He however, called on PSP contractors operating in the local government area and attached to the Delta State Waste Management Board, to be more responsive and effective in their services.
The council boss, who made the assertion during a phone chat with Blank NEWS Online, expressed dismay over the uncultured activities of some PSP operators, which according to him, does not portray them in good light.
He therefore challenges residents who are dissatisfied with the conduct of such operators to either report to the security agency or the Waste Management Board for replacement.
According to him, “There should not be sacred cows in this business because we are all equal stakeholders in making our environment clean.”
