The newly inaugurated Chairman of Emevor Progress Union (EPU), Asaba branch, Dr Sunny Ekakitie, has appealed to the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to assist in the construction of the deplorable Emevor-Orogun road in Isoko North local government area of Delta State.
Dr. Ekakitie gave the hint while delivering his inaugural speech, shortly after a successful election held in Asaba, the state capital.
He explained that the deplorable Emevor-Orogun road needs the collective efforts of all to pull strings and make the State government keep its promise to take over the 1st phase of the road and end the suffering of the people.
The Emevor Progress Union (EPU), Asaba branch, had during it’s monthly meeting held on Sunday, 20th February 2022, successfully elected a new excutive council after four years of meritorious leadership of Sir Simeon Upkedor, a retired Permanent Secretary in the state civil service.
Also in his acceptance speech the new chairman, Dr Sunny Ekakitie, on behalf of his Exco thanked Sir Upkedor, Secretary Emeritus, Mr. Stephen Udeviotu and the rest of the past Exco for their steadfastness and exemplary leadership.
He immediately hit the ground running by constituting three standing committee to assist in giving zest and improve performance.
The new committees are the Elders advisory committee, Contact and ceremony committee as well as the Welfare committee, which he said will be repositioned for better service delivery
He however called on all Emevor sons and daughters to be encouraged to attend meetings which holds on 3rd Sundays of every month at 4pm prompt.
He further called on those who have left or are not regular in attendance to turn a new leaf and join in the development efforts by submitting their talents, resources and connections in order to develop Emevor.
He reiterated his Exco’s resolve to up the performance bar to meet lofty objectives of EPU and to help development drive at home as the branch that produced the President General, Mr. Moses Agboro and hinted that more is expected from Asaba branch.
The ewly Elected Executives of EPU Asaba branch include Dr Sunny Ekakitie – Chairman, Mr. Jonah Odiurho – 1st Vice, Madam Beatrice Orife – 2nd Vice, Mr. Simeon Ebewore – Secretary and Mrs Sandra – Asst Secretary.
Other are Mrs Agboro – Treasurer, Mr. Etamishere – Financial Secretary, Pst Sam Ebewore – Publicly Secretary, Mr. Odiurho – Provost 1, I.O.U – Provost 11 and Mr. Uyoyou – Asst Financial Secretary.
