Emevor Community in Isoko North local government area of Delta state, recently witnessed a historic event when the Isoko Study Centre of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) was commissioned on June 20, 2014.
Prof. Godwin Sogolo; member, National Open University Governing Council said at the opening ceremony that “the Emevor Study Centre of the institution is now open.
“NOUN like other Federal Government universities is recognized for all degrees. I hereby call on you and all Emevor sons and daughters to take the advantage of this golden opportunity and register for either a BA/BSC, MA/MSC, Ph.D or any professional course.
“I strongly believe that education has no better alternative”.
Special guests at the occasion include the Deputy Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Hon Leo Ogor, Delta state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Chief Betty Efekodha, the Oteta of Emevor, Chief Francis Itoje, and Chief Agare Enigbere; Retired Deputy Governor of Cental Bank of Nigeria and Chief Joseph Ogedegbe.
Others are Chief Judge of the High Court, Justice Pius Anigboro and former Executive Secretary to Federal Character Commission, Mr. Patrick Emerhana, as well as traditional rulers and opinion leaders from Isoko land.
