The Media and Public Affairs Unit of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has honoured the Commission’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Bashorun Hon. Askia Ogieh FCNA, CrFA, as the Most Media Friendly Chief Executive Officer, 2019.
Head of the Unit, Mrs. Chinenye Ezonfade, poured encomium on the Managing Director and other members of the Board, for their active role in bringing the Unit to its present enviable level.
The áward ceremony was part of the maiden edition of the Unit’s Dinner Party/Awards Night, held at Okuemi Hotel, Bendel Estate, Warri, on Saturday 14th December, 2019.
The glamorous and colourful event, had in attendance, the members of the DESOPADEC Board, ably led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Bashorun Hon. Askia Ogieh and a host of other dignitaries, including media practitioners from all parts of the State and beyond.
In his address, the Chairman of the event, Hon. Charles Aniagwu, Delta State Commissioner for Information, represented by Pastor Malcolm Oteri, Acting General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, commended the Media and Public Affairs Unit for putting up such an extraordinary event and advised that the tempo be sustained.
Other awardees included the Chairman of DESOPADEC, Hon. Evangelist Micheal Diden, as the Most Media Friendly Chairman and Supporter of the Unit, 2019; Chief John Obukowho Nani, Executive Director, Finance and Admin, as Executive Media Booster, 2019; Hon. Daniel Mayuku, Executive Director, Projects, as Executive Media Booster, 2019; Hon. Shedrack Lucky Agediga, Executive Director, Research and Statistics, as Executive Media Booster, 2019; Hon. Leonard Anoka, Executive Director Social Services, as Executive Media Booster, 2019.
Also awarded were Member representing Udu, Uvwie, Ughelli South and Urhobos of Warri South LGA, Olorogun Vincent O. Oyibode, as the Most Dogged Sustainer of the Media & Public Affairs Unit, 2019 as well as Mrs Chinenye Ezonfade, Head, Media & Public Affairs Unit, as the Most Innovative and Dynamic Head of Media & Public Affairs, 2019.
