Ahead of the Monday, December 8, governorship primaries, The Chairman,Delta Coalition for Obuh, Mr. Anthony M.Mene, has appealed to delegates to make Delta and its future their priority and be properly guided as they cast their votes for the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2015 general election.
Mene, while addressing a large crowd of youths who visited him at his Sapele country home on Wednesday, said that his Principal, Sir Tony Obuh is ready to take the state to greater height.
He, however, asked them to go back and prevail on the delegates to make the progress of Delta State their priority by voting for competence, experience, character, accountability, integrity and the man they know.
“I am very happy to see you and very encouraged by this solidarity visit. Sir Tony Obuh is ready to transform our State. And together we can build on what is on ground to achieve the Delta Beyond Oil of our dreams. But first, I want to appeal to you all to go back and prevail on the delegates, any one of them that you know, to please make the progress of Delta State their priority.
“They should not focus on sentiment. There is a lot of sentiment out there now. Focus on Delta and its future. Tell them to vote for competence, experience, character, accountability, integrity and the man they know.
“Tell them to vote for Sir Tony Chucks Obuh on Monday because he represents these qualities, their dreams and aspirations. It is not about him, as a person. It is about our state and its future.
“Our governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, has performed wel and he is finishing strong. We need to build on it and Sir Tony Obuh is the most qualified person to take it up from wherever he will stop. Our state needs a governor who will be able to unite Delta State further and who will respect its diverse interests.
“Our state needs a governor who has the interest of the state in his heart and who can pursue a broad development agenda that will serve the interest of all Deltans, irrespective of where they came from. I believe Obuh fit the kind of governor Delta State desires at this moment”, he said.
