The wife of the Delta state governor, Deaconess Roli Uduaghan has instructed women to remain in the consciousness of God through spiritual transformation of the society.
Speaking today, Sunday, February 02, 2014, during the 7th Edition of the Delta Mothers’ Day Of Prayer held at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Mrs. Uduaghan harped on the need for Delta and Nigerian women to uphold the responsibility endowed in them by God, adding that “Our godliness should be portrayed in our outlook, thoughts, speeches and deeds.”
At the prayer session which was attended by hundreds of women from across Delta state and witnessed the rendition of hymns, songs of praise to God and worship, the Governor’s wife and host of the event told women to be fervent in prayers and seek God’s wisdom in their efforts to bring up their children in the ways of the Lord.
She explained that the life transforming prayer session whiich holds annually on February 2 is intended to enlighten women, strengthen their faith in God and commitment to societal growth by entrenching Godly values in their children who are the major players in governance, global peace and development.
While conducting prayers for the forthcoming National Conference, general elections, and against corruption and ungodly leaders, Deaconess Uduaghan affirmed that the foothold of Nigeria’s greatness started in Delta state with the commencement of the Delta Mothers’ Day Of Prayer in 2007, adding that Deltan and Nigerian women would not cease in their prayers to uplift Delta state, Nigeria and its people.
According to her, “To be a godly mother is not a permanent thing. Godliness simply means God being in the centre of your life, your thought, your work, your speech.”
Meanwhile, the Guest Speaker, Pastor (Mrs.) Funmi Aransiola of Gethsemane World Prayer Centre, Ibadan described mothers as stars upon the world, hence they are the first trainers and teachers of children of different generations, urging them to “act like mentors and role models to affect generations positively by enforcing the laws of God in the hearts of children for the visible transformation of the world.”
In a message titled “Godly Mothers”, Pastor Aransiola said that “God uses mothers for the establishment and maintenance of human institutions in government and state and society. Mothers are the chief soul moulders, character constructors and God’s recruiting agents.”
