The Permanent Secretary Government House and Protocol Mr. Tony Obuh has stated that the computer literacy was necessary to function in today’s Information Technology world.

The Permanent Secretary who stated this yesterday [4-7-14] at the closing ceremony of a 5-day In-House Computer Appreciation Workshop for Executive Assistants and Clerical Officers working in he Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Asaba explained that computer knowledge was an important aspect of daily life which could be used for communication and other activities, stressing that “ it is important that we have access and knowledge of how to use the computer in our daily life as it is very useful to our work and living”

He stated that the seminar was organized as a means of educating and improving the computer skills of the staff of the directorate adding that it will help improve in their service delivery at their various departments.

Mr. Obuh emphasised that the training programme was part of the state government human capital agenda of training and etraining of staff for optimally efficiency and effectiveness.

The Permanent Secretary charged the participants to put to good use all they have acquired from the seminar for the benefit of themselves and their various departments emphasizing that “You must continue to practice after the training comes to an end in order to retain all that you have been taught”.

He commended the staff for their willingness and zeal to learn and assured them that more trainings and seminars will be deployed for the improvement of the staff of the directorate. Pastor Sylverster Ebinum, Representative of the staff on the Training programme commended Delta state governor, Dr, Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Obuh and the organisers for the quality of the training programme and promised that they would put the knowledge garnered to good use.
