Chelsea defeated Manchester United by 1-0 at Wembley in the FA Cup final after the referee, Michael Oliver gave a penalty to Chelsea in the first half of play.
This was despite United control of the game until the 22nd minute when Eden Hazard was fouled in the 18 yard area.
The best chance Man United had came in the 44th minute when Phil Jones who caused the penalty earlier on headed the ball near post.
Paul Pogba made a brilliant run into the box at the stroke of half time but he was nullified by Chelsea’s defenders.
Jose Mourinho’s men continued from where they stopped as they resumed the second half.
It was United all the way.
They pressurised Chelsea but they did not get the equaliser they desperately needed.
While United were in control, Chelsea relied on quick counter attacks.
Their main man, Hazard, was spear-heading the counter attacks.
In the 72nd minute, Mourinho made a double substitution, bringing on Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku for Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford.
Martial first touch of the ball was a goal attempt but the keeper saved it.
It became a case of Chelsea hanging on to the one goal lead.
With each minute that passed by, it looked like Man United would score but it did not happen.
