Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has lifted one of the annual Independent Newspapers Awards, as “Agency Of The Year”.
The Managing Director/CEO of DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh FCNA, CrFA, received the award o behalf of the Commission, at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Saturday, 7th March 2020.
Statistics revealed that DESOPADEC, being Delta State’s major interventionist agency, was recognized by the organizers, in terms of her “unbroken focus and massive people-based interventions, engagements and deliberate policies of lifting men and women off the poverty line and giving them hope for a brighter future.”
In his acceptance speech, the Managing Director/CEO, Bashorun ASKIA Ogieh, FCNA, CrFA said: “We will continue to do more in bringing development to the doorsteps of our people. Together, myself and colleagues will ensure that we bring better life and living standard to our people.
“I want to use this medium to thank the visionary governor of Delta State Senator Ifeanyi Okowa who has dimmed it necessary to rejig the board and restructure DESOPADEC for what we are now seeing as result-oriented organization.”
The Independent Newspapers Awards is a yearly event that recognizes personalities, businesses and organisations engaged in different fields of endeavour that have made very significant and giant strides in the past year toward nation building, productivity and redefining a new nation of hope and prosperity for a larger segment of the masses.
