In a bid to further strengthen the trust of Deltans on the initiatives enshrined in the SMART agenda, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), High Chief Bashorun (Hon.) Askia Ogieh, FCNA, CrFA, has donated truck-load of desks, tables and chairs to Umeh Secondary School, Umeh in Isoko South local government area of Delta state.
The rare gesture which comprised of 100 School Desks, 10 tables and chairs for Teaching Staffs, among other instructional materials was a testimony of the many development and empowerment projects of the Bashorun Askia Foundation in complementing the massive infrastructure efforts of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.
Bashorun Askia, who is also the Executive Director, Finance and Administration (EDFA) at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), in recognition of his numerous humanitarian services had earlier been conferred with the title of “ADIKIHEKEGBA” of Umeh Kingdom.
The Odio-Ologbo of UMEH, H.R.M. Ambrose Odiri Owhe, the Council Of Chiefs and the people listed a number of gains attracted to UMEH Community by the Senior High Chief Bashorun Askia Ogieh and solicited for more people oriented projects from the state government.
Bashorun Askia, the “ADIKIHEKEGBA” of UMEH, who expressed appreciation to the Odio-Ologbo and the entire UMEH indigenes, promised to work in synergy with them, having become a full fledged member of UMEH Community.
He also thanked them for successfully re-electing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to continue on his good works in all the communities across the state.
He was accompanied to the conferment by the D.G Hope Alive, Chief (Hon) Obaro Godspower, Chief (Hon) Prosper Edo, Chief Engr. Lawrence Edus, Barr Hon Rosy Uwubiti Ogbemudia, Amb Immortal Efi, Barr Mrs Peace ESE Ogum, Hon Pius Ogbokor, Elder Idibra Benjamin, Mrs Oghale Akakiye, Othameta Francis, Prince Mzee Iraroraina Obokpaino, Hon Patrick Obegba, Charles Elohor Elohor, Amb Eriega Edoja James and other Party faithfuls.
