Determined to create a suitable forum for members in Nigeria and the diaspora to interact with one another, Auchi oldies 80-89, products of Auchi Polytechnic, in Edo state is organizing its third re-union.
Tagged ‘Abuja 2023’, the vision, is envisaged to build a reputation for Intellectual Thought Leadership. The first reunion held at the ancient city of Benin in 2019, while the second one was held at Dallas in the USA in 2022.
According to Mr Peter Nwadei, President, their mission is to partner with the institution’s main Alumni, public and private organisations and academia in order to realize the vision of the association.
On the 2023 Abuja re-union, Charles Omosun and Lady Bose Ikhanoba, Chairman and Secretary, Planning Committee respectively, disclosed that the 13 member planning committee has slated the two days re-union in Abuja this weekend.
According to them, members from all over the world will converge at Abuja on the 5th of May for a major interaction and get-together. Then on Saturday the 6th of May, there will be visits to orphanages followed by a gala night at Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, Asokoro in the evening where funds will be raised for several projects.
The secretary general of the association- Emma Daco stated that the group was created on the 28th of April, 2019 by five friends- Florence Agbejule, Flora Alofoje,
Emmanuel Daco,
Delphine Ikpasaja and Oghale Ajise in Lagos.
Presently, it has seven member executive committee and several other personalities like Dr Ebenezer Onyeagwu- GMD/CEO of Zenith Bank, OSA Osunde – CEO of fidelity Finance, Frank Okosun- CEO of Knight Frank- (the biggest Estate management company in Africa), Hon Thomas Okosun- former Speaker- Edo state House of Assembly.
Others are Chief Oseni Elama- former Director – (finance & investment), NISTF, Earl Osaro Onaiwu- former Director General- Nigeria Governors Forum, Lady Bose Ikhanoba – former Director- Company House, MSC Aviomo and a host of other top political, government and business executives within and outside the country who have impacted heavily on members, society, as well as their alma-mata.
The group has transformed from Wassup group to a registered organization through the efforts of the constitution review committee with hundreds of enthusiastic members.
