The Worldwide President of the Ambrose Alli University Alumni Association, Ekpoma, Dr. Clifford Imade Omozeghian, has inaugurated the Sapele main branch of the association. The inauguration of the branch took place on April 8th 2023 and has as her Chairman, Barr. Arierhe Odiete, a 1992 law graduate of the university also has Chief Barr. Asudo as the Legal Adviser, Engr. Marvis Adu as the Secretary.
Other members of the inaugurated executive Committee include: Eguare Akpomuvire – Treasurer, Ms Loveth Ogbebor – Organizing Secretary, Mrs Ifeoma Nwafor – Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bright Apete as the Editor in Chief.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony the Worldwide President, Clifford Omozeghian express thanks to God for his election and the inauguration ceremony of the Sapele branch which he said marks the beginning of greater things to come in the life of his administration. He called on those who contested the election with him but lost to eschew litigation and join hands with him to build the alumni association noting that a call to selfless service should not be misconstrued as an avenue for self enrichment. He stated that his administration has been running without any funds from the association since they were sworn in in December 2022 and will continue to do so for as long as it takes to salvage the association from the present quagmire.
He highlighted the recent invitation of the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki to the alumni association to join him to visit the university on a one day interactive session with the university community. A visit which marked his first official assignment and recognition by the Edo State Government and the entire university community.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman designate, Sapele Main branch, Barr. Arierhe Odiete gave thanks to God for bringing it to pass and called on all members of the Sapele main branch to be united in order to ensure that the Sapele main branch of the alumni association stand the test of time.
The high points of the ceremony were the proclamation of the branch into existence and the presentation of the certificate of recognition as a branch to the Chairman Barr. Odiete, by the Worldwide President, Dr. Clifford Omozeghian as well as the administration of the oath of office on the members of the executive Committee by the Worldwide Legal Adviser, Barr Presley Okojie.
Present at the inauguration were members of the Sapele main branch, the Chairman, Ughelli branch Chief Barr. Odiete and three members of his executive committee, Secretary Warri branch John Bello Esq., Legal Adviser Warri branch, Pius Kwode Esq., Publicity Secretary of Warri branch Nicholas Ugbo and a Delta State House of Assembly Warri North constituency contestant at the just concluded House of Assembly elections, Comrade Abulu Graham, who is also a member of the Warri branch of the association.
