The Ambrose Alli University Alumni Association Worldwide Ekpoma will hold her annual Delegate Convention from Thursday, 25th to Sunday, 27th October 2024. In a release signed by the Worldwide General Secretary of the association, Sir. Vincent Owhofadjeke and made available to newsmen, five delegates each are expected from every branch of the Association. The delegates are to arrive at Ekpoma on Thursday, 24th October, when the Pre-Convention National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting will hold.
On Friday, 25th October 2024, the Annual General Meeting will hold while on Saturday, 26th October, the Election of Officers into the Worldwide Executive Offices of the Association will hold, and on Sunday 27th October 2024 Delegates will depart.
According to the Worldwide President of the Association, Dr. Clifford Imade Omozeghian, the Annual Delegate Convention is regarded as the great home coming of graduates of the University to their almamater, and it offers them the opportunity to tour round the campus to see the state of facilities and the learning environment. Part of the activities at this Convention is the courtesy call on the Onojie of Ekpoma, HRH Anthony Abumere II, the Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Hon. Collins Aigbogun, and the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Asonmwan Sonnie Adagbonyin, which offers the Alumni Association the opportunity to cross fertilize ideas with the leadership of Ekpoma Community and the Management of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and intimate them with the Alumni’s plans for the institution.
Some resource persons are expected as key note speakers for the Convention.
This year’s Convention with the theme “Repositioning and Strengthening the Alumni Association: the Vision of a Dedicated Alumnus” he added is unique in the sense that it is the first Convention this Administration is holding after the establishment of a Governing Cuncil for the Institution regarded as one of the foremost
state universities in sub-saharan Africa, and interestingly, the Worldwide President Dr. Clifford Imade Omozeghian is a member of the Governing Council.
It would be recalled that when the Clifford Omozeghian’s Administration came into office, the University was administerd by a Special Intervention Team (SIT), but today, the story is different partly due to the engagements of the Alumni Association with the State Government and other Stakeholders.
The President prayed God to grant all delegates journey mercies to and from the Convention.
