The Ughelli branch of the Ambrose Alli University Alumni Association Worldwide, Ekpoma, at the weekend, got a new executive council. This followed an election conducted by the electoral committee, which was set up by the National Executive Council led by Dr. Clifford Imade Omozeghian at its quarterly meeting held at Chosen Hotel, Ekpoma, on May 4th, 2024.
The Secretary to the Electoral Committee (ELECO), Honourable Johnson Idolor Akpolome reports that the election took place in an atmosphere of peace, and tranquility and at the end the following members emerged as the new executives of the Ughelli branch: Prince Felix Oberiko – Chairman, Ohiwere Stella- Vice Chairman, Emmanuel Oghenetega – Secretary, Albert Umukoro- Assist Sec. Ogheneovo Michael – publicity Sec.
Others are: Engr. Dr. Isaiah – Treasurer, Mrs. Anna Oliseowe – Financial Sec. Felix Odin – Org. Sec., Edewor Nkiru Elizabeth- Assist. Org. Sec., Idudu Samson- Editor-in-chief, Michael Iyere Ugbdaga – Provost and Stephen Okogu – Assist. Provost.
The high point of the electoral process was the administration of the oath of office on the new executives by the Chairman of the Committee, Barr. John Bello (Esq). who is also the Chairman of AAU Alumni Association, Warri branch.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of the branch, Prince Felix Oberiko Esq. promised to work assiduously for the growth of the branch in particular and the Alumni Association at large. He called on other members of the executive and the members of the branch to give him their maximum support. He concluded by thanking members of the Electoral Committee and the NEC for ensuring that the vacuum created in the branch has been filled with men and women of capacity, sagacity, and tenacity.
Present at the election were members of the Ughelli branch and Chairman, Ozoro branch, Dr. Godrey Juweto, who is also a member of the electoral committee.
Reacting to the successful election, the Worldwide President of the Ambrose Alli University Alumni Association Dr
Omozeghian expressed his gratitude to the Electoral Committee, members of the branch, and the outgone executive while congratulating the new exco on their success at the polls..
