Members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta South Senatorial District have resolved to adopt several strategies to unite the party ahead of 2027 Governorship election in the state.
Rising from a meeting held at the official residence of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor in Asaba, on Tuesday, the party leaders resolved to be united to ensure easy, rancour-free re-election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027.
Addressing participants at the meeting, Rt. Hon. Guwor said that it was important for the people of Delta South to speak with one voice ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, with 2024 coming to an end in the next few weeks, year 2025 would witness a lot of political activities ahead of 2027.
“It is time to start putting our heads together to ensure victory for our Governor again come 2027.
“Over the years we have never lost any election but it is only when we plan together that we can sustain our winning streak.
“There is need to come together to work for the unity of our party to ensure the victory for our dear Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori come 2027,” he said .
Chairman of the party in the Senatorial district, Chief Emman Amgbaduba, had said that the meeting was called in the interest of the Senatorial district, adding that the party would continue to work in unity for the overall progress of Deltans.
The meeting was attended by members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Special Advisers, top government functionaries and party stakeholders from Delta South Senatorial District.
