The management of IHS an international Telecoms infrastructure company has donated equipment worth millions of naira to the Nigeria immigration Service (NIS) to promote service delivery especially regarding border security as the nation gears up for general election.
The CEO of the company, Dr Mohammad Darwish, who made the donation to the NIS Comptroller General, Isah Idris, stated that his organisation, IHS has been working closely with telecom industry in Nigeria for the past 21 years and had provided employment to over 40,000 Nigerians directly and indirectly.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the CGIS thanked the company for their responsiveness in terms of their corporate social responsibilities and confirmed that he first had an encounter with the company about 20 years ago when he was the NIS desk officer in the Nigeria investment Promotion Council.
He promised that the equipment which included 25 motorola high performance base stations , 155 Walkie Talkies and other high performance communication gadgets, will be put to the best use especially as the nation approached the general election.
Among the management team that received the company was the Deputy Comptroller General in-charge of Finance and Admin, Mrs Caroline Adepoju and also Acting DCG Dora Amahian, in-charge of Planning and Research (ICT)
