**HAILS ATIKU’S EMERGENCE AS PDP PRESIDENTIAL FLAG-BEARER
**LAUDS GOV. OKOWA’S TRANSPARENCY

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state, Bashorun (Hon.) Askia Ogieh JP, has expressed satisfaction in the way the Chairman, Planning Committee of the Special National Convention of the PDP and Governor of Delta state, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa successfully conducted the party’s Presidential primaries which gave rise to the election of former Nigeria’s Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the PDP Presidential flag bearer ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Bashorun Askia, who is the Executive Director (Finance and Administration) at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), described Governor Okowa as a true democrat and honest leader whose unwavering disposition to the practice of true democratic principles has yielded unequalled development and good governance in Delta state.
He explained that the peaceful disposition of the party’s presidential aspirants and delegates during the just concluded peaceful, credible, free and fair PDP 2018 Elective National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is a clear and strong signal to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to be ready to vacate Aso Rock Villa for the PDP in 2019.
“The transparency and credible display of the organizers, aspirants and delegates have been applauded by Nigerians and the International Community. It is a very clear signal
of PDP’s readiness to take over power from the directionless APC”, he said.
While thanking other presidential aspirants for their political maturity and magnanimity in agreeing to work with the party’s flag bearer to rescue Nigeria from the chains of uncertainty, insecurity and near economic collapse which the ruling APC has plunged it in the past years of undemocratic and despotic leadership, Bashorun Askia boasted that the PDP has resolved to hearken to the yearning of Nigerians for a “rescue operation”.
He congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on his victory in the presidential primary election of the Party, adding that his track records as former Nigeria’s Vice President, entrepreneur of great repute and consistent advocate of true federalism will help in moving Nigeria away from the doldrums towards an improved national economy, generally acceptable government as well as the security of lives and property of the citizenry.
He therefore called on all members of the party and all eligible voters in Nigerians, devoid of political inclinactions, to massively support the PDP and its flag bearers in the forthcoming elections in order to return the country to the part of good governance, rule of law as well as security of lives and property.
